Description:
This facility offers both community and medical services, all in one building. The first floor houses community agencies offering services such as counselling, employment services, seniors activities and youth groups. There is all space that community groups can use to meet, plan and organize, including a kitchen, a garden and meeting rooms. The second floor houses a health clinic with a family doctor, counsellor, dietitian, foot doctor (chiropodist) and health promotion staff. This facility occupies a new green building located adjacent to Northview Heights Secondary School. The building incorporates a number of green features to provide a healthy and thermally comfortable environment with an enhanced indoor air quality and increased day-lighting control. The building has a high performance building envelope, high efficiency mechanical and electrical systems, a solar PV system, water efficient fixtures and materials comprised of recycled and renewable materials.
