Learning and Talent Specialist

We are currently looking for a highly skilled, caring, and safety focused individual for our team.
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Learning and Talent Specialist will play a pivotal role in identifying the organization’s learning needs and leveraging that information to design, implement, and facilitate relevant training programs. The Learning and Talent Specialist will demonstrate a proactive approach to improve the learning experience, ensuring that all programs align with Buttcon’s strategic goals and support the growth and development of its staff. The ideal candidate will enhance client relationships and project outcomes by ensuring consistent knowledge and procedures among staff while continuously refining training processes to improve efficiency and quality.
Responsibility
Training Material Development
- Develop or source appropriate training materials aligned with identified needs.
- Develop, update, and collate company manuals, focusing initially on standard operational procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive skills gap analyses to identify key gaps in understanding and skills across the organization including short, mid, and long-term training needs.
- Develop skills matrix for each role within each department.
- Determine the primary training needs company wide.
- Design of end-to-end learning solutions and training content in alignment with company needs.
- Design the training program model, detailing aspects such as program delivery, trainers, engagement and motivation strategies, evaluation and feedback mechanisms, and documentation and reporting.
- Incorporate and align the training programs with the company’s Annual Incentive and Merit plan, ensuring compliance with the Company’s annual 20-hour training requirement.
- Effectively roll out the training plan to maximize engagement and impact across the organization.
- Provide expert insights and actionable recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of training programs, ensuring alignment with project objectives and safety standards.
- Support project strategy by identifying essential skills and competencies, ensuring training requirements are consistently met.
- Collaborate closely with teams to effectively deliver training resources.
- Develop and implement a system to monitor and track employee participation, ensuring that all staff complete Buttcon's required 20 hours of training annually.
- Incorporate and manage training programs within Buttcon's HRIS to streamline tracking of employee training.
- Participate in the goal-setting process for employee performance evaluations, providing support to ensure alignment with the 20-hour training requirement and fostering employee development.
- Act as the primary point of contact for learning initiatives, raising awareness of available programs.
- Foster a culture of learning by promoting continuous professional development from day one of employment.
- Facilitate the rollout of learning programs and initiatives across departments, customizing and adapting them to best fit each unit's specific requirements.
- Collaborate with managers to assist with employee development plans.
- Provide recommendations for external learning and development opportunities.

Qualification Requirements
- Post-secondary education specializing in Human Resources, Education, Adult Learning, or related field (diploma, certificate or degree).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources or learning and development. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Up-to-date knowledge of best practices and trends in training.
- Knowledge of the construction industry is an asset.
